We are a church for today
We want to welcome you to this site. We pray you are blesssed by your on-line visit and hope you will come see us in person sometime soon.
We are a Nondenominational church that seeks to build a community of faith where a culture of Grace permeates every aspect of our fellowship. We preach the Good News without a religious or judgmental attitude. We are affirming of everyone who comes through our doors. All family types are welcome: traditional, blended, and same-sex oriented. We want to see the love of God made known to the people of Central Texas. Our desire is that the Gospel of Jesus Christ be heard, taught, and lived to the fullest potential.
New Covenant Austin is part of the Covenant Network that is an organization based out of Atlanta, GA. We are churches and ministries from around the world committed to building up the Kingdom of God.
Our Core Beliefs and Concepts
Grace Only
We believe that when a person comes to Christ they are under a New Covenant with God that is based in unmerrited favor. No one can earn or deserve God's blessing. It is freely given. When Jesus taught us to call God Father, he was letting us know that God loves us intimitely. He is not far away and desires that we come to him not because we have to, but because we want to. Grace is a way of life that is unforced. It does not demand things of you. It teaches you to accept what Jesus did on your behalf and be thankful for it. The path of Grace also teaches you to live in step with God each day, closely following after his own heart.

For it is by grace you have been saved through faith and this is not from yourselves. It is the gift of God; not by works, so that no one can boast. Eph 2:8
Faith Only
We believe that God loved the world so much that he came personally to the earth as a man to show us the way. Even though we had strayed far from him, he made a decision to die for us on the cross to pay for all of our sins, wiping the record of them completely out. The debt we owed has been paid in full through the blood of Jesus. This sacrifice made it possible for you and I to receive the gift of redemption, which includes forgiveness, restoration, and being granted right standing with God. By faith alone in the person and work of Jesus Christ we are viewed by the Father as righteous, perfectly and continually pleasing unto him for all eternity.

For in the gospel, a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last..
Rom 1:17
Scripture Only
We believe that the Bible is the sole standard for all teaching and instruction for the church. The Scripture protects true believers from religious leaders who would take the Gospel and twist it. For example, using fear tactics to advance the Kingdom is not right. The Lord grants godly sorrow and repentance but never fear. If you don't know what the Bible says about fear, you can be manipulated. We believe in preaching Good News as Jesus instructed. The Bible is the source of God's truth that tells us we are loved, how to be saved, and how to continue on the path with Christ. It guards believers against ideas that question the solid ground upon which they stand.

Man does not live by bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.
Matt 4:4
No Politics
Jesus said his kingdom was not of this world. Therefore, the followers of Christ should be pursuing a heavenly agenda rather than a political one. We do not believe godliness in society will be achieved through government or religious action.

We do not want to see the Christian message hijacked by those who are clearly not walking in the ways of love, joy, peace, patience, kindess, goodness, gentless, faithfulness, or self-control.

We believe the only way true transformation of the world will take place it through the pouring out of God's Spirit upon all people.

Jesus said, "My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest..."
John 18:36

No Legalism
Legalism is a system of religion that emphasizes what people need to do to get right with God. Believers are misled into focussing on their own performance rather than Christ's. Putting the onus on how we measure up breeds judgements and unloving attitudes within church circles. God's favor can never be achieved on our own because no one is able to be good enough to deserve it. God's laws in the Old Testament were given to demonstrate that only God is holy. The study of the commandments should lead us to the conclusion that we are lost without him. The New Testament reveals that through Jesus Christ we can be found. Whoever puts their full trust in him alone will be saved.

For what the Law could not do... God did: sending His own Son...as an offering for sin.
Romans 8:3
The Blessing
Abraham was told that through his seed all nations of the earth would be blessed. We know that this is a reference to Jesus who is the ultimate blessing to anyone in the world who wishes to enter into covenant with God through him. He took all our sin upon himself. In exchange, he gave us all his righeousness. Our right standing with God allows heaven to be opened for us. Favor, abundant life, health, prosperity, well being are all available to us; but most importantly of all, the "Promise of the Father" is ours to receive as well. The Gift of the Holy Spirit is something we should eagerly desire. For in it, we have the fullness of God's power and glory deposited within our hearts.
He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.
Galatians 3:14
